Faith. Collaboration. Transformation.
This Is What Happens When a Community Decides to Show Up
The Christian Resource Center didn't happen by accident. It was born from years of frustration, a shared faith, and an unshakeable belief that Cedar Park's most vulnerable families deserved better than a referral and a phone number.

One Conversation. One Campus. One Mission.
How a Shared Frustration Became a Movement
In 2015, a group of visionary church and nonprofit leaders came together with a shared frustration — they had been meeting for years to brainstorm ways to better serve families in need, but something kept getting in the way of real, lasting change. Two problems kept surfacing over and over again: service providers struggling with accountability and limited resources, and families facing barrier after barrier just trying to access help — transportation issues, time constraints, lack of childcare, and the exhausting fear of facing yet another rejection.
They knew something had to change. Not another meeting. Not another referral list. Something real.
The solution they landed on was bold: build a centralized campus where churches, nonprofits, and community organizations could work side by side under one roof — sharing resources, sharing accountability, and sharing the load so that families never had to navigate it alone.
The pieces came together almost organically. Hill Country Bible Church was already collaborating with Mission Possible in East Austin and the Grace Family Resource Center in St. John's. Bethany United Methodist Church had been dreaming of a "Circle of Care" in Cedar Park. Then at a Baptist Convention in Dallas, Pastor Nathan of Twin Lakes Fellowship met Chris Rowley from Women's Job Corp — and that single conversation became the spark that lit everything.
The Christian Resource Center was born — and Cedar Park has never been the same.

Real Barriers. Real Consequences.
The Problems No One Was Solving
Before CRC existed, church and nonprofit leaders across Cedar Park kept arriving at the same conclusion: the system meant to help struggling families was quietly failing them. These were the two problems they couldn't ignore any longer.
Service Providers Were Struggling to Follow Through
Even the most well-meaning organizations were hitting walls. Limited resources, lack of coordination, and little accountability meant that families were often left waiting, forgotten, or passed along to the next provider without any real resolution.
Nonprofits and churches were working in isolation with no shared system of accountability
Resource limitations meant providers couldn't always deliver on what they promised
Families were falling through the cracks between organizations that weren't communicating with each other
Families Were Facing Too Many Barriers Just to Get Help
For a family already in crisis, the process of finding and accessing resources was its own kind of hardship. Every extra obstacle, long drive, scheduling conflict, cold reception was another reason to give up before getting the help they desperately needed.
Transportation issues, lack of childcare, and work schedules made accessing services nearly impossible
Fragmented services meant families had to tell their story over and over to different organizations
The fear of judgment and rejection kept many families from seeking help at all
Mission. Vision. Values.
What We Believe and Why It Drives Everything We Do
Every decision made at CRC, from the way we welcome a family through the front door to the way we partner with local churches, flows directly from a set of deeply held beliefs about what community should look like.
Our Mission
To spread the love of Jesus by empowering member ministries through advocacy, relationships, and service — connecting every person who walks through our doors to real resources and real hope.
Our Vision
A Cedar Park where every family within a 10-mile radius has repeated opportunities to hear, see, and feel the love of Jesus Christ through a united community of churches.
Radical Welcome
Everyone is welcome here, regardless of background, belief, or circumstance. We lead with love first and trust that the rest will follow.
Real Follow-Through
We don't hand families a phone number and wish them luck. We walk alongside them, make the calls with them, and stay connected until they're truly okay.
United Churches
We exist so that local churches don't have to figure out community ministry alone. Together we accomplish infinitely more than any one congregation ever could apart.
Lasting Change
We aren't just meeting immediate needs, we're walking families toward sustainability, self-sufficiency, and the realization of dreams they stopped believing were possible.

The Heart Behind Everything
Meet Michelle Johnson
Executive Director
|
Psalm 55:22
Michelle Johnson didn’t set out to become the Executive Director of the Christian Resource Center, she set out to help people, and that calling shaped everything that followed. After years of volunteering across multiple ministries, balancing a full-time job, leading a women’s business network, and launching the Diaper Ministry in 2020, Michelle made the bold decision to step away from her career and started her own business to serve full time.
She began by supporting nonprofits with social media, stepping in wherever there was a need, often volunteering countless additional hours. When the opportunity came to lead CRC, she hesitated, because she had never seen herself as an executive director, but as a helper. That heart for service is exactly what makes her leadership so impactful. Today, Michelle oversees a thriving campus which provides a space for ministries to fulfill their missions, connects with church partners, and while still personally connecting with those who walk through the doors.
That's exactly what makes her extraordinary.
A mom of four and proud grandmother of three, Michelle’s life is rooted in faith, family, and community, whether she’s enjoying BBQ with family or building relationships with local nonprofits and businesses. Michelle’s story is one of faith in action, connecting, nurturing, and inspiring others while enriching lives and strengthening the community, one act of kindness at a time.
