Questions About Volunteering
Do I need any experience or special skills to volunteer?
Not at all. While some roles do require specific skills or training, many of our volunteer opportunities simply require a willing heart and a desire to serve. Whatever your background, we will find a place where you fit.
How much time do I need to commit?
It depends on the role. Some opportunities ask for a recurring weekly or monthly commitment while others are more flexible and event-based. When you fill out our interest form we will match you with something that works for your schedule.
Is there any training involved?
Some roles include orientation or specific training to make sure you feel prepared and confident — like our Resource Partner program which includes the Walking With Others training. Any role-specific requirements will be clearly communicated before you commit to anything.
Can I volunteer as a group?
Absolutely. CRC welcomes groups of all sizes — from small teams to large church congregations. If you’re interested in bringing a group, reach out to us directly and we’ll help coordinate something that works for everyone.
What if I try a role and it isn't the right fit?
That’s completely okay and it happens more than you’d think. We want you to be in a role that energizes you rather than drains you — so if something isn’t working, just let us know and we’ll find something better suited to your gifts.
Do I have to be a Christian to volunteer?
While CRC is a faith-driven organization, we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who share our heart for serving the community. What matters most is that you care about the families we serve and want to show up for them well.
